| Melt butter and chocolate, preferably in a double boiler just until melted. Remove from heat and stir in corn syrup, sugar, salt and vanilla until well mixed. Add eggs, one at a time mixing well after each. Do not over mix or beat - this will add air and make the pie "shitty". Place pecans evenly in bottom of pie crust. Pour chocolate mixture over pecans and bake at 350F for 1 hour until a knife inserted 1" from the edge of the crust comes out clean. Serve with fresh whipped cream or ice cream. |
